It’s lunch time in Toronto and I decided to visit Khao San Road located in the heart of Toronto, only a 15 minute walk away from the union station.
If you’re looking for authentic Thai food, I recommend giving this place a try.

It’s located on the first floor of this black-glass building.
You can feel the amount of focus and dedication right away. I really liked seeing the staff working as one to cook these dishes left and right.

What I Ate
I ordered one of their signature dishes, khao soi with a level 6 (Thai Spicy) spice level.
And picked chicken for my source of protein.
The crispy fried noodles on top is paired nicely with the cook noodles underneath, which soaked up all of that spicy, coconuty broth.
To be honest, it was about a medium spice level for me, but if you’re not used to eating spicy food then I’d recommend going lighter with the spice level or don’t add any at all. I definitely enjoy adding some heat and it pairs well with that coconut milk broth, you end up with an addictive broth that keeps you wanting more. Next time I’ll get a lower spice level so I can experience more of that broth.

Verdict
– I’ll definitely be coming back to try their other dishes like pad see ew, pad Thai, and curries.
– Khao soi was good, I think substituting for beef and going light on the spice level would’ve made the dish more enjoyable.
– Worth the visit if you’re craving thai food.
Score: 7/10 (Khao soi)
